Distinguished and Famous people from Broadford
Broadford's football history includes a junior player who rose to captain an AFL premiership side. His documented local beginnings came well before a long and sometimes turbulent professional career.
🏉 Barry Hall
Barry Hall began playing with the Broadford Roos as an eight-year-old, developing an enthusiasm for football that his Sydney Swans biography traces back to games in the family paddock. He entered the AFL with St Kilda, later joined Sydney and captained the Swans' 2005 premiership side. He finished his playing career with the Western Bulldogs and was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2017. His career included serious disciplinary setbacks alongside its football achievements. Broadford's place in that story is his upbringing and junior club, before the larger grounds and national scrutiny.
